IGNCA's Varanasi Regional Centre


Set up in 1988, IGNCA, Varanasi regional centre is mainly engaged in the publication of KALATATTVAKOSA SERIES (List of Books)  by a group of active employees and researchers under the Hony. Coordinator. it is also carrying out its activities and reference collection from various Indological disciplines for the IGNCA's projects with the help of experts besides organizing meetings, lectures, seminar & workshops etc.

Scholars' meet at IGNCA, Varanasi Regional Centre

A scholars' meet of thirty five renowned erudites was arranged on 25.09.2007 at 3 PM in the A.C. Hall of Shah Premises near Ananda Park, Durgakund, Varanasi for reviewing the terms of Kalatattvakosa Vols. VII & VIII, in which well-reputed Art-critic Prof. Rai Ananda Krishna ji was requested to chair.

At the outset Prof. K. D. Tripathi, Hony. Coordinator IGNCA, Varanasi gave a brief introductory outline on the scope and progress of entire scheme of Kalatattvakosa Series and explained purpose of present meeting. Later on subject experts from different disciplines expressed their valuable suggestions covering different aspects of concerned terms one by one.

Scholars expressed happiness over reviving the practice of organizing such meetings of scholars and suggested to preserve the scholary knowledge tradtion of interpretation of the Shastric texts, especially the Varanasi School of traditional Hermeneutics. Participation of the younger generation of scholars was a very healthy trend noticeable in the scholars' meet.
