Ministry of Culture, Government of India set up IGNCA in the year 1987 to explore, study and disseminate Indian arts, revive the dialogue between India and her neighbours, especially in South and Southeast Asia, in the areas pertaining to the arts. Arts encompasses a wide area of studies, such as creative literature – written and oral; visual arts – architecture, sculpture, painting, graphics and general material culture; photography and films; the performing arts – music, dance and theatre; festivals with artistic dimension.

IGNCA’s Cultural Informatics Laboratory took up the task of documentation and digitization of cultural resources and developing interactive multimedia based learning resources to create the expertise in the areas of digital artifacts. IGNCA’s Conservation Laboratory is also fully equipped for the conservation work of artifacts and is having rich strength of in-house core faculty

To attract the people towards Indian art and to nurture trained manpower in the related fields, IGNCA has planned to start the following one year part-time Post Graduate Diploma Courses :
 

  1. POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN CULTURAL INFORMATICS (PGDCI) – Seats = 25
     (approved by the AICTE)
     

  2. POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN PREVENTIVE CONSERVATION (PGDPC) -- Seats = 25
     

  3. POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN BUDDHIST STUDIES (PGDBS) -- Seats = 50

 

ADMISSION NOTICE FOR POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSES, 2017-18

The candidates selected for admission in Post Graduate Diploma courses are requested to submit the following at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, 11, Man Singh Road, New Delhi from 21st July, 2017 to 3rd August, 2017 between 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.

(i) Two passport size photographs

(ii) Original and self-attested photocopies of 10th class certificate and graduation marksheet/ certificate.

(iii) Demand Draft drawn in favour of 'Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts' of the following amount:

Rs. 20,000/- Post Graduate Diploma in Cultural Informatics

Rs. 20,000/- Post Graduate Diploma in Preventive Conservation

Rs. 6,000/- Post Graduate Diploma in Buddhist Studies.

Online payment of fees of the above mentioned amount according to admission in the Post Graduate Diploma course at the given below bank details. The candidates paying fees online are requested to provide with the date of transfer along with UTR number during the admission process as proof of transaction.

TIMINGS:

 

The classes will be held from Monday to Friday from 06:00PM to 08:00PM
